Thirteen years forged on the dojo floor in Barachois, New Brunswick, under Shihan J.J. Nowlan, 5th Dan, founder of his own Kyokushin Kan dojo since 2008. From his teaching to ours: the same standards, the same Budo spirit, now carried to Dieppe in both official languages.

Sosai Masutatsu Oyama
Sosai Mas Oyama · 1923–1994
Lineage · Sosai Mas Oyama

We train as Sosai trained without compromise.

Our dojo follows the strict technical curriculum and philosophy of Kyokushin Kan, the lineage carrying forward the original teachings of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama: Kumite, traditional kata, and the disciplined pursuit of the Martial Way.

We are not a fitness studio. We are a dojo. Every class begins and ends with Rei (Respect) and asks the same of every student, regardless of rank.

Dojo Kun · The Oath

  1. 01We will train our hearts and bodies for a firm, unshaken spirit.
  2. 02We will pursue the true meaning of the Martial Way, so that in time our senses may be alert.
  3. 03With true vigour, we will seek to cultivate a spirit of self-denial.
  4. 04We will observe the rules of courtesy, respect our superiors, and refrain from violence.
  5. 05We will follow our moral principles and never forget the true virtue of humility.
  6. 06We will look upwards to wisdom and strength, not seeking other desires.
  7. 07All our lives, through the discipline of karate, we will seek to fulfill the true meaning of the Kyokushin Way.

A class is welcoming and structured, we open with a bow, warm up together, and work through the four core areas of Kyokushin Karate at a pace that fits your level. Beginners are guided and supported every step of the way.

Kihon

The basics. Stances, blocks, punches, and kicks practiced step by step. This is where every student starts and where every technique is built.
